Replacing the gear reducer

is not a simple issue. The original Motovario that was on the roaster when it arrived was not the correct gear reducer to use for this application, in this environment. Every engineer that I have spoken with from the major manufacturers of gear reducers say that heat is what caused it to fail. The drum shaft that sits in the center of the gear reducer is hot (nearly 325 degrees) all day every day. The Motovario that is on the roaster is meant to operate at 80- 100 degrees. Grove can build one that will handle the heat – but lead time might be 7-10 days…
