Harar is the coffee that got me into this business in the first place. I had the chance to cup a monster “Horse” Harar, in 2000 that rated in the high 90″s, full of ripe, saturated and jammy cooked fruit with that wild winey finish – I was hooked…

After sample roasting so many offerings from Harar this year, and throwing conventional wisdom out the window – (with most of the samples)…I have found the roast profile that showcases the classic flavor profile in the coffee that we purchased. I took a risk, because I was not able to fine tune the profile with a few small half pound samples – but tasted the “good stuff” lurking in the background.

After roasting and cupping for 6 days – I am very happy with the results.
